About Wood Flowers
Cherish your bouquet for years to come! I love making your vision, colors, and style come to life in an amazing keepsake that captures your big day. Brides often share that their guests couldn't believe their flowers are wood! I also love seeing the unique ways brides display their flowers in their home and enjoy them for years to come.
All of our wood flowers are handmade from sola wood, which is a woody shrub that grows in tropical regions around the world. Each flower is made by women who live in these areas, mainly India and Thailand. Using wood flowers also provides jobs with fair wages and safe working conditions for these women.
Flowers are actually soft to the touch and flexible, similar to cork and not unlike live flowers. In their natural colors they are ivory and brown (from the outside bark.) Some have light wood grain and brown flecks, giving your flowers a beautiful and rustic look. Because of variations in wood grain and being made by hand, every flower is truly unique in shape and size, just like real flowers. Flowers can be dyed any color to create your perfect look!
With dozens of flower designs, brides can easily incorporate their favorite blooms, regardless of the season. Almost any flower can be represented in sola wood!
About April, Owner & Designer
I love helping brides create the perfect bouquets that reflect their styles and personalities. Rustic elegance is a phrase often used to describe the pieces I make. I love mixing colors and textures to make pieces you can cherish for years to come!
When I’m not making arrangements, you’ll find me hiking, running, skiing, laughing with my two kiddos, playing board games with the family, or enjoying time outdoors with my wonderful husband! We met in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, which is also where we enjoyed the first 11 years of our marriage. We now live in and explore Western PA.
